Winged Trees 2006

Site specific installation: conception in February 2006, realization in May-June 2006
5 wings from 4m to 9m, installation for three trees
technical fabrics, tree branches, iron cable

Certain trees produce seeds equipped with a wing of thin skin. The wing permits seeds to go far away in the wind.
The wing of the seed of maple is so well shaped that it looks like the wing of dragonfly.
Could the rooted trees dream to fly themselves? I will try to make their dream come true."
Inspired by a winged seed of maple, I conceived this project of site specific installation
in February 2006 and realized it in May-June 2006 at the Chateau of Jehay in Belgium.
